Andre Cornell George's Obituary
Andre Cornell George, Sr was born on November 11, 1958, in Conway, South Carolina. He was raised between Washington, D.C. and Waycross, Georgia, where he built lifelong friendships and lasting memories.
While attending Waycross High School, Andre was an exceptional athlete. He proudly participated in football, track, and basketball, demonstrating the determination and team spirit that would define much of his life. After high school, he attended Trinidad College in Trinidad, Colorado. He later answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army, where he worked honorably as a medic, dedicating himself to caring for others.
Andre had a deep love for music and art. He found joy in playing the bass guitar and expressing himself through drawing and painting. His creativity and passion were reflections of his vibrant spirit.
While living in Colorado, Andre met Teresa George, and from their union his beloved son, Andre George II, was born. Later, in Washington, D.C., he met & married Angela George. Throughout his life, family remained at the center of his heart.
Andre leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Talmadge and Dorothy J. George; his siblings, Rosalyn George and Phillip George Sr. (Prussia); his devoted son, Andre George II (Zorana); and his treasured grandchildren, Andre George III and Amara George.
He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces, Jasmine George and Kiera Robinson; his nephews, Phillip George Jr. (Ebony), Isaiah George, Tyler George, Tyriese Robinson and Thurman Robinson; his brother/cousins, Elery George, Alban George, Barry George Sr., Glenn George (Marlene), and his sister/cousins, Cleo Reynolds and Linda Moody.
Andre shared a special bond with many close friends whom he considered family, including Michael Richardson, Phyllis Byars, Quandaenia Johnson, LaShanda Jones, Arian Payne, Ms. Nicki and her daughter, along with a host of neighborhood friends whose lives he touched deeply and who, in turn, supported him throughout his life.
Andre’s legacy is one of strength, creativity, service, and love. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
