Anthony Ricardo Arter Sr.'s Obituary
Anthony Ricardo Arter, Sr. was born on October 2, 1967, to the (late) Howard and (late) Virginia Arter in Washington, DC, where he attended school. Anthony was one of the star players on Anacostia Senior High School’s varsity basketball team in the late 80’s, and later worked at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. He later married Angela (Freeman) Arter, and together they had one son, Anthony Jr. Ricky accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child and had attended St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Washington, DC, many years prior to his untimely death. Ricky had a great “sense of humor,” loved sports, and enjoyed cooking and eating. He also had a deep love and admiration for his brothers, sisters, and extended family.
Anthony leaves to grieve: Brothers: Larry Carpenter, Sr, Kenneth Arter, Steven Arter, David Arter, Demond Arter, and Michael Arter, Sisters: Evangelist Barbara Arter and LaShon (Arter) Glover. Both Anthony’s wife, Angela, and son, Anthony Jr., preceded him in death, as did his Father, Mother, and eldest brother, Ronald.
Thank you all for making my life here on earth more enjoyable – I’m looking forward to seeing you again when you get to “heaven”. Love always, Ricky
