Anthony Ward departed this life on May 26, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on February 27, 1974,
Anthony lived a life marked by faith, education, fellowship, and a genuine love for people. Anthony was a lifelong learner who believed deeply in the power of education. He earned a Bachelorvof Science degree in Education and Mathematics and later obtained a Master of Education degree in Special Education. He devoted his professional life to teaching and mentoring students, using his knowledge, patience, and dedication to help others succeed. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives as an educator, leaving a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and school communities.
Faith played a central role in Anthony’s life. He welcomed opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions about Scripture, faith, and life. Anthony never met a conversation he didn’t enjoy, and those who knew him understood that a simple question could easily become a thoughtful discussion lasting hours. Whether the topic was religion, politics, current events, or life itself, he was always eager to exchange ideas and perspectives. Anthony was also known for his many passions and interests. He was a loyal and enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan who supported his team through every season. He had a deep appreciation for luxury automobiles, especially Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Conversations about cars became a favorite pastime, particularly with his brother-in-law, with whom he could spend hours discussing different models, features, and innovations.
Anthony enjoyed exploring the world and experiencing new places. His travels took him to Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic, reflecting his curiosity and appreciation for the experiences that life had to offer.
Among his favorite pastimes was the game of Spades. He faithfully participated in weekly games with his beloved Spades family, where competition, camaraderie, laughter, and friendship created countless cherished memories. The bonds formed around those card tables became an important part of his life and brought him great joy.
Anthony will be remembered not only for what he accomplished but for who he was—a man of faith, intellect, loyalty, and conversation. He possessed a generous spirit, a sharp mind, and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He valued relationships, treasured fellowship, and never missed an opportunity to share a story, a laugh, or a thoughtful discussion.
Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria A Ward (Mama), and both of his grandmothers, Mildred Cox and Louella Ward. He leaves to cherish his memory his father George D Ward III; his sister Sharon “MiMi” Davis (John); his niece, Sharron Frederick (T-Jay); his nephew, JonJon Davis; his great nieces and great nephews; and a host of family members and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Though Anthony’s earthly journey has ended, the legacy he leaves behind remains. It lives on in the family he loved, students he inspired, the friendships he cultivated, the lessons he taught, and the faith he shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
