Brenda Delores Bullock's Obituary
The Heavenly gates opened up on the evening of November 6, 2025, and welcomed Ms. Brenda Deloris Bullock of Bryans Road, MD.
Pixie as she is affectionately known was born on February 11, 1956, in Enfield, North Carolina, to the late Louise and Clarence Bullock. Pixie was one of six born of this union. Pixie received her early education in Brooklyn, New York, when her parents relocated there in the early 1960s. In the early 1970s, Pixie completed her education in Washington, DC after she and family members moved there and this is where Pixie began to plant her roots.
While in DC, Pixie attended UDC, worked several jobs as a Daycare provider and at the Fredrick Douglass home in Washington, DC. Pixie later found her passion as a nurse. Pixieworked in several different hospitals in the DC area, but her longest stay was at the Old Soldiers Home in Washington, DC for over 20 years. Pixie love taking care of the veterans and the elderly until her retirement in 2014. Pixie had a knack with them and they truly appreciated her warm heart and caring spirit. Even after her retirement, Pixie still cared for family and friends who needed care and would teach their family members how to care for them.
Pixie was spiritual and a free spirit and never met a stranger. She loved everyone who came into her orbit and once you met her, you would never forget her. Pixie was a true Fashionista and very fashion forward; she was definitely ahead of her time in fashion. You never caught Pixie without a fly hat, coat, jewelry, or a beautiful scarf that she would swing around her neck/shoulders like the Fashion Diva she was. When Pixie entered a room she commanded it and heads would turn. Her slender frame and model walk was admired by many.
Pixie was extremely creative and had multiple talents. Pixie love decorating and had an eye for the unusual. She marveled at making silk floral arrangements for weddings, your home, or just giving her creations to family & friends.
Pixie loved sewing, drawing, sketching, painting, reviving plants, and thrift shopping. Pixiewould take the most unattractive item and turn it into something beautiful. She just had “that eye”. Pixie had an eclectic taste for art work, African pieces, animal prints, and vintage pieces. Pixie loved music and loved to dance to her own beat and at times would be the only one on the dance floor, just grooving. Pixie also loved animals and favored dogs, the family dog Diesel, her beloved Yorkie Brooklyn & Cockatoo bird Lemon, which she cared for like her own children.
Although Pixie only had 2 biological children Takiya & Mateen, but she was “Ma Pixie” to so many others. She would pour into them and they just loved and cherished her. They would invite her to their events and she would go to support them. She loved being around young people and they just loved on her. Pixie loved and adored her family and friends.
Pixie was an awesome Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Aunt, cousin, in-law, and best friend.
Pixie was preceded in death by both of her parents & her older sister Bertha Lyons.
Pixie leaves to cherish her beautiful soul and spirit, her loving and devoted children, Takiya Page-Doby & Mateen Bullock, son-in-law Jacques Doby, daughter-in-love Ceena; Grandsons, Duane Marcelle, Daquan, Mateen Jr., Jamari, Jacques Jr., Emmanuel, & Tomell; great-granddaughter Marjai; great-grandsons, Sage, Messiah, & Emari; Brothers Kenneth (Theresa), Milton, & Alfonso Bullock; and one sister Demetra Bullock; several nieces and nephews that loved and adored her; cousins, and a host of friends. Pixies spirit will continue to live on in all the lives she touched.
