Chenay Brianna Johnson's Obituary
Chenay Johnson was a light in the lives of all who knew her.
Born on June 27, 1984, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Chenay lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity.
She was a woman of many passions — she loved spending time with her friends and family. She absolutely loved cooking with a passion. She even had a saying #Starving. She found happiness in traveling, smiling, and creating lasting memories. Her deep love for animals, especially cats, and her compassion for people reflected her caring and nurturing nature.
Chenay proudly served as a member of the Eastern Star, living out the values of faith, charity, and community service.
She explored many careers with passion and heart, including cooking, teaching, cleaning, home heath aid and always striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
Above all, Chenay’s greatest pride and joy were her children:
Emmett Johnson, Sincere Johnson, and Angelus Hall. She was a devoted mother whose love, strength, and wisdom will forever guide them.
Chenay is survived by her father Emmett Johnson, her beloved children, her only grandchild, Charisma Harris-Johnson, her siblings Areyanna and Breyanna Johnson, her two nephews, Hezakhi Young, and Zyaire Johnson, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Deborah Nixon Johnson, and grandmother, Ometta Nixon.
Chenay’s spirit was vibrant, her heart boundless, and her smile unforgettable. Though her time with us feels far too short, her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on forever in all who were blessed to know her.
We celebrate Chenay’s beautiful life, honor her memory, and will carry her in our hearts always.
“Loved beyond words, missed beyond time.”
