Clifton Lorenzo Atkinson's Obituary
Clifton Lorenzo Atkinson, affectionately known as "SNOOT", was born on September 3,1942 to the late Ronnie (father) and Inez (mother) Atkinson of Micro, North Carolina. He attended Richard B. Harrison High School in Selma, North Carolina. Cliff was the youngest of five children.
Cliff gave his life to Christ and joined Central Baptist Church in Camp Springs under the leadership of Pastor Lincoln Burroughs.
Cliff's passion was driving trucks on the interstate for Preston and Fellmans Company. He got a thrill talking on the CB to warn his colleagues of "Smokey the Bear” (The Police). He drove for many years.
Cliff loved country music and, most of all, he was a master of grilling foods and annually planned
a reunion of family and friends at Sandy Point to celebrate his birthday and Labor Day with a barbeque.
In Forest Heights, MD, where he resided for years, he served on the Board of Commissions for the community. His free spirit and love for the community was evident.
Cliff is survived by his children Clifton Brown (son), granddaughter Nicole Brown, and great-grandchildren Jamari and Jaquan Watson; Bonnie M. Atkinson (daughter), grandsons Anthony Lucas and Keon Byrd, Step-children George M. Baker, Mary (Pinky) Baker, and Jeanette N. Walker. Sisters Mary Lewis Raspberry & Emma Jean Raspberry.
He was preceded in death by James (Bro) Aurthur (brother) and Jessee Lee (brother).
He leaves to cherish his memory a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends.
