Elizabeth Ann Barfield's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann (Libby) Barfield was born December 26, 1944 into a loving family of 12 children in Benson, North Carolina.
At an early age Libby joined Saint James Disciple Church, where she served in many capacities.
After graduating from Forest Hill High School, Libby attended Saint Augustine College, in Raleigh North Carolina. Libby later moved to Washington D.C. and worked at many establishments. After retiring, Libby’s health began to decline.
Libby loved the poem Footprints. She memorized the last verses of the poem which is: “The Lord replied, My precious, precious child, I love you and I will never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I the Lord carried you.“
Libby leaves to mourn her passing, three wonderful children, Rita Williams of Washington DC, Franklin (Wade) Williams Jr. of Accokeek, Maryland, and Nicole (Nikki) Williams of Washington DC.; Four Grandchildren DeVontae J. Williams, Briana N. Williams Jernay M. Johnson, Aimee K. Johnson; Six Great Grandchildren, Cassidy Johnson, Dejuan Johnson, Gabrielle Williams, Moriah Hubbard, Empryis Williams and Saint Dent; Two sisters Lina Marshall of Hyattsville Maryland, Lois Alford of Washington D.C.; two brothers Archie Barfield (Maeneal), and Lewis Barfield of Raleigh N.C, and a host of relatives and friends.
Libby’s big smile and beautiful personality will truly be missed, but the good memories will live on in all of us.
