Keith Linwood Ashton's Obituary
Keith Ashton transitioned from this life on April 20, 2026, at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Md. He was born September 16, 1967, to Thomas (Tom) Ashton and Gertrude (Nena) Ball Ashton, who are deceased.
Keith was educated in the DC Public School system. He attended Ketchum Elementary School, Kramer Jr. High School, and graduated from Anacostia High School in 1987.
Keith was a diligent and conscientious worker. His career began at Dulles Airport and Ballou Senior High School. Most recently, he worked at the American History Museum where he was a dedicated Facilities Service Worker for 22 yrs. He received a certificate for the most reliable Facilities Service Worker as well as awards and certificates for Custodial Technician and Windsor Floor Cleaner Machine Specialist.
Keith was baptized in 2021 by Reverend Ronald K. Reid at First New Hope Baptist Church in Suitland, Md. He rededicated his life to Christ on April 22, 2026 with Pastor Kevin M. Billingslea of Righteous Branch Commandment Church of God, Washington, D.C. Keith attended Pastor Billingslea's Church.
Keith cherished time with his family, friends and his fiancé Leona Stewart (better known as wifey). He loved eating crabs, playing horseshoes, and going to the beach. He was also a devoted football fan and his favorite team was the Baltimore Ravens. Another favorite thing he liked to do was hosting cookouts where he was the Chef at the grill. Additional ways he was creative included planning and setting up a Mother's Day surprise for Leona.
Keith demonstrated love by helping others any way he could. He was loyal and would be your friend until the end. He would not hesitate to tell you he loved you. Keith will be truly missed by his fiancee, Leona, family and friends.
Keith leaves to cherish his brother Ray Ashton, Uncle Robert Dixon and Aunt Dorothy Ball Dixon, his fiancé Leona Stewart his best friend and cousin Eric Mackenzie, a host of cousins, family and friends.
