Nokomis Hinton, a true Native Washingtonian, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 65. She was born in Washington, D.C., on June 10, 1960, and was a lifelong resident who held a deep and abiding connection to her community. Nokomis grew up witnessing the rich and evolving history of the city, and her life reflected the strength and spirit of the Nation's Capital.
She leaves a legacy of devotion and love, which will be cherished by all who knew her. Nokomis is survived by her loving son, Raynard Lindsey, and her devoted mother, Luddie King. She is also survived by her sister, Candida King, and a host of other beloved family members and dear friends.
