Tanisha Willis' Obituary
Tanisha Willis was born on September 26, 1978, in the Parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies, to Dorothy Case Subah and the late Harold Willis. She was called to her eternal rest on January 4, 2025.
Tanisha migrated to the United States when she was 8 years old and schools in the state of Maryland. In her early adult life, Tanisha’s career ranged from various positions at PG Parks and Recreation and she served as a CNA for Shady Grove Hospital.
Tanisha was always the one to talk about the greatness of the ones she loved. She was your biggest cheerleader even when you weren’t around to hear it. She could go on and on about their kindness and accomplishments. She was the motivation you needed to push through your circumstances, always encouraging others to focus on what you got going on. Tanisha loved inspiring others to pursue their dreams and aspirations and always wanted the best for everyone. One thing she emphasized not only to her boys, but to her entire family, was to lookout for one another because, as she said, “it’s really the only thing you have.”
In 2012, Tanisha was diagnosed with lupus and Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMO). Despite these challenges, she displayed immense resilience and demonstrated that no matter the situation, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals but yourself. Tanisha’s courage in facing her illness showed that sometimes the smallest things we take for granted can be mountains to climb. She adapted quickly to her circumstances, allowing her to continue doing the things she loved, like traveling.
Her passing is a reminder that life is fleeting and we must not take our time or the time with loved ones for granted. Tanisha leaves behind a legacy of love and encouragement that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She leaves behind to mourn her mother, Dorothy Case Subah, her sons, Evrod, Jr., Chandler, Maurice, and Sharia. Tanisha is also fondly remembered by her close family: Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & friends as well as Big Moe. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Kirt; her father, Harold; her aunt, Vena: her grandmother, Pearleana; and her grandfathers.
