Thomas George Cole's Obituary
Thomas George Cole, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on May 31, 2026, at 11:00 PM EST, just an hour shy of his 79th birthday. He departed this world with serene dignity, embraced by the love of his devoted son and under the compassionate care of the exceptional medical staff at Adventist Medical Center in White Oak, Maryland.
Born on June 1, 1947, in Washington, D.C., Thomas was the beloved son of Thomas Sylvester Cole and Thelma B. Herman. His early life in Washington, DC, shaped a man of integrity and kindness, known for his deep love for family and unwavering dedication to his community.
Thomas was preceded in death by his long-time common-law fiancée, Carolyn D. King, and his first loving wife, Sheila Anne Ramseur-Cole with whom he shared the profound joy of raising their son, Thomas Michael Cole. Also, he is preceded by his brothers Edward "Butch" Cole, Albert "Tilly" Cole and his sister Beatrice " Bee" Cole. Along by his uncle John E. "Sammy" Cole. Surviving Thomas George Cole is his cherished son, affectionately known as his "Teeny-Weeny," Thomas also leaves behind his dear brother, John Anthony Cole, with whom he shared a special bond, finding great comfort and joy in each other's company during their senior years.
His family extends to his only daughter, Robin Corley, and her devoted husband, Gregory, along with his beloved nieces, Manel Cole-Lyons and Margaret Cole. Thomas was blessed with a host of grandchildren who adored his humor and cherished the unforgettable moments they shared.
Thomas's educational journey began in the Washington DC Public Schools and advanced through the Ohio State University School of Mortuary Sciences. His dedication to his craft was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of mortuary sciences, a testament to his unwavering commitment and professionalism. He proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces, dedicating his skills to the Department of the Army. A dedicated member of the Masonic Community, Thomas achieved the esteemed title of "Master Mason," contributing wholeheartedly to the Brotherhood and senior Mason fellowship.
Outside of his professional life, Thomas found solace and joy in fishing and relaxing on grassy fields after a long workweek. These simple pleasures reflected his appreciation for life's tranquil moments.

In a heartfelt message from Thomas, he expressed, "In Heaven, I'd like to thank everyone who cared for me during my health battle. Though he has departed from our midst, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace!
